Companies Act 2014 – Time Running Out for Converting to a Designated Activity Company (DAC)

Companies wishing to be converted by re-registration to a DAC using the re-registration procedure under Part 2 of the Companies Act 2014 must, under the Act, pass an ordinary resolution to re-register by 31st August 2016, no filing fees are applicable for this process.

Re-registering as a DAC following this deadline will have to be done under Part 20 or Section 5 of the Act and in addition to professional fees, will involve either CRO filing fees or Court costs depending on the method taken.
