The PPSN project, which requires all directors of Irish companies to provide their PPSN (or an equivalent) with certain CRO filings, was due to commence on 23 April 2023, however, the CRO have announced that there will be a delay to the implementation of this requirement – (CRO- What’s New). A new go live date is to be announced shortly.

Once the PPSN requirement comes into effect, existing RBO numbers will be automatically reclassified as Verified Identity Numbers (“VINs”) by the CRO in the coming weeks. Directors that do not hold a PPSN or an RBO number will have to apply to the CRO to have a VIN issued by completing a Form VIF.
